YongKang Shanshui Xincheng School | Education Project by Hongye Furniture

Shanshui Xincheng School is a nine-year consistent public school, covering a total construction area of approximately 62,000 m² with 48 classes and a total investment of 520 million RMB. As an educational landmark of Jiangnan Shanshui New Town, the school is positioned with “high starting point, high standards, and high quality”, aiming to build a future-oriented campus integrating nature, culture, sustainability, technology, and art, setting a new benchmark for education.

Hongye Furniture Group was awarded the furniture package contract for this project and successfully delivered, providing comprehensive educational space solutions to support the school in achieving its goal of “promoting urban development through education.”We adopted the three-fold aesthetics of spatial beauty, functional beauty, and humanistic beauty as the core design concept.

#Classroom

Traditional classroom layouts and furniture designs often follow a uniform and disciplined logic. In contrast, our approach integrates functional aesthetics, cleverly combining storage, nap areas, and other multi-purpose features, transforming classrooms into warm spaces that blend learning and everyday life experiences.

#Library

Through customized furniture design, the library, reading rooms, and open reading areas are divided into distinct yet interconnected zones, creating a diverse “learning ecosystem”.

The mountain-shaped bookshelves and semi-circular arch book nooks are no longer simple storage units; they perfectly complement the space’s flow, catering to the needs of students across all age groups.

In the reading room, tables and chairs in natural wood tones are arranged neatly and paired with green cushioned seats, providing students with a comfortable and inviting reading environment.

The open reading areas utilize corridors and corners efficiently, with custom-shaped bookshelves and streamlined reading desks, giving the space a strong sense of artistic and dynamic beauty. This design fosters a free and convenient reading environment, allowing teachers and students to pause and engage with books anytime.

#Specialized Classrooms

In addition to standard classrooms, all specialized classrooms and themed learning spaces completely break away from traditional design conventions. Each room features a unique layout and identity, creating boundary-free learning environments that support innovative practice and hands-on exploration. Together, they form an integrated, campus-wide smart learning hub for students.

Specialized classrooms and distinctive learning spaces serve as key platforms for cultivating students' core competencies and creative abilities. By adopting eco-friendly, technologically inspired furniture, the campus enables students to truly experience a modern learning environment that feels “as natural as breathing.”

#Psychological Wellness Room

Designed with a minimalist and modern aesthetic, the Psychological Wellness Room is furnished with comfortable and soft seating, creating a calming environment where students can naturally relax. The space fosters a sense of safety, equality, and empathy, forming an immersive setting that supports emotional well-being and open dialogue.

#Student Council Hall &Party Space

Featuring a flexible and reconfigurable spatial layout, these spaces break away from single-function limitations and encourage open communication and collaborative interaction. By integrating civic and red culture education elements into the spatial design, the areas serve both as platforms for student engagement and as meaningful educational spaces within the campus ecosystem.

#Administrative Offices

These spaces provide a modern working environment that integrates teaching, academic discussion, professional training, and collaboration. Equipped with smart office furniture, the areas are designed to enhance efficiency, comfort, and flexibility, supporting educators and administrators in their daily work and professional growth.

#Auditorium

Designed with a flexible and versatile spatial layout, the auditorium is equipped with theater-style seating to ensure an excellent audio-visual experience for every attendee. Serving as a multi-functional academic and cultural hub, the space supports lectures, performances, conferences, and a wide range of campus activities.

#Canteen

The canteen features a spacious and well-lit interior, complemented by a warm-toned dining layout that creates a comfortable and relaxed dining environment. The thoughtful spatial planning encourages students and staff to enjoy meals in a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.

#Teacher Apartments

The teacher apartments feature a simple yet warm design, paired with functional furniture solutions that make efficient use of space. The layout balances practical living needs with leisure and relaxation, providing educators with a comfortable and welcoming residential environment.
